Instructables.com - Leather contest

When I began working on the leather briefcase there was a leather contest on instructables.com which I planned to participate in. The platform they have for making tutorials is really nice and helps to make long tutorials like mine easy to read. The blog format I use on this site is really not the ideal way to present a long tutorial.

I got a shared second place which they on the site call the first prize. The first prize they call the "grand prize".
The prizes were pretty good but I really don't need any of it. I do look forward to the get "the art of making leather cases" as I only have these as pdf.
I really think I deserved the grand prize as my tutorial is insanely comprehensive but the judges must have weighted other criteria higher.

  1. Hi Andersen,

a big congrats to you and I do agree that you should have landed the grand prize. That said, what you've gotten isn't shabby at all as well. Not sure why they decided to choose chinese checker board but it appears the judges prefer the more gimmicky stuff... Nonetheless, looking forward to supporting you in your next contest entry!

    Cheers,
    Istel

    1. Thank you for your support. Your are right - the prize is pretty good! I just hope it will clear customs. Otherwise I will have to pay almost 300 $. To win the next leather contest I guess I have to come up with something out of the ordinary. Suggestions are welcome!
